Will you make the LEAP to V-Show this year?

WHAT:    A short 2 – 3 minute variety act of all types.  We have had singing, dancing, lip syncing, comedy, musicians playing instruments, tumblers, cup stackers and many others.  Most people form their own groups, and many are age based. However, we have had sibling acts, solos, or multi grade levels.  If you have trouble finding an act to get into, but know you would like to join a group, the producers of the show are happy to help you get into a group.  

The fifth graders usually do a large finale act, as well.  More information will be forthcoming about that.  

WHEN: Friday February 28th and Saturday February 29th, 2020

WHERE:   The show will be performed on the 

Roosevelt School stage.  

WHO:    YOU!  If you have never done the show before, we will have a brief meeting for parents and act coaches right before the PTO meeting on Tuesday, January 14th, 2020. 

WHY:   It is soooooo fun!  Most kids find it to be one of the most memorable experiences of their time at Washington.  


VShow Club – Calling 4th and 5th graders!  

Do you want to be a part of V-show, but performing is not your thing?  Do you want to perform, but also want a leadership role in the show?We have a V-Show club open to any 4th and 5th graders.  We will meet after school on Tuesdays in the multipurpose room for an hour to discuss the script for the hosts, the theme, the decorations, the set and will learn how to schedule crew and lighting helpers.  You will also learn how to work the equipment that we will use for the show. The emcees for the show will be chosen by the V-show club.  Our first meeting will be Tuesday January 14th after school until 4:45PM in the multipurpose room.  Then we will meet every Tuesday until the show.

Similar to the previous years:

– No lunchtime rehearsals for groups are allowed, excluding 5th grade finale group. 

– We are asking all parents of kids in the show to volunteer 1-2 hours of time to the show effort.  There are many evening and work at home opportunities so everyone has a chance to be involved, and parents can even sign up for more than 1 volunteer spot if it works with their schedule.  These sign ups will be available soon

-Our “stage” rehearsals will be in the multipurpose room (formerly the auditorium).  These are good times to get your whole group together to get a sense of how much space you will have.  We will have 4 nights available. See below for dates and times. The sign up links for these rehearsals will be sent to the coaches later.  


•Group Info Sheets HERE.  This is the official sign up for your group. The Google Form located HERE will serve as a group information form.  From this, we will reach out to the coach to get a list of all participant names and email addresses.  When we receive all of the names and emails for children in your act, we will forward permission slips and theater and etiquette guidelines for the coaches to  review them with your group so all of our participants can have a wonderful show experience! Forms are due Monday, February 3.

•Tuesday, January 14th  6:30 p.m.– Parent meeting in LRC for new parents and parents of 5th grade participants

Monday, February 10th, Thursday, February 13th, Tuesday, February 18th,  , and Wednesday, February  19th – Group rehearsals in multipurpose room (sign ups will be sent to group leaders at a later date)

•Thursday, February  20th   – Music, Technical Requirements and Electronic Permission Forms Due

•Friday, February  21st – Dry Tech Meeting from 6-8pm in the Roosevelt Auditorium

(coaches and producers only – no kids) Coaches will be given a 10 minute slot to discuss any technical needs for your act.

•Monday, February 24th  – Tech rehearsal (entire cast and crew)  Time TBA

•Wednesday, February 26th   – Dress rehearsal (entire cast and crew)  Time TBA

•Friday, February 28th   – 7:00 p.m. SHOW

•Saturday, February 29th   – 2:00 p.m. SHOW 

•Saturday, February 29th  7:00 p.m. SHOW (taped)
